Calvary Baptist Church began with a need in Simi Valley for an independent, fundamental Bible believing church that would meet the needs of the congregation with solid Bible preaching and teaching, as well as provide programs for the entire family. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, in the winter of 1981, we opened our doors with Jim Newton as our first Pastor.  Today, still under the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are blessed and thrilled to have Dennis Chapman as our Pastor. We are a family centered church, seeking to fulfill the entire family's spiritual needs by equiping them to live through the teaching of God's Word. Even with the many obstacles, detours and setbacks, Calvary Baptist Church continues to grow and move forward.  The future looks bright for Simi Valley and for Calvary Baptist Church.

Our ministries include Sunday School, for all ages. Nursery, with Bible and song time Youth Group for our Jr. and Sr. High School young people. Kings Kids for our elementary grades. Vacation Bible School Family and adult activities. Summer Camp Program, at Ironwood Christian Camp Yearly Retreats for the men, ladies, couples and singles. An active Missions Program Bus Ministry CD Ministry Soul-Winning Ministry Prayer-Chain Ministry Internet Ministry IF YOU ARE NOT SAVED, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS ... THERE IS NO SECOND CHANCE AFTER DEATH!

Sermon in Short Form This Is My Church It is composed of people just like me. It will be friendly if I am. It will do a great work if I work. It will make generous gifts to many causes if I am generous. It will bring others into its fellowship if I bring them. Its seats will be filled if I fill them. It will be a church of loyalty and love, of faith and service. If I, who make it what it is, am filled with these, Therefore, with God’s help, I dedicate myself to the task of being All these things I want my Church to be. To Grace your Face with a Smile Horse or chicken? A retiring farmer in preparation for selling his land, needed to rid his farm of animals.  So he went to every house in his town. To the houses where the man is the boss, he gave a horse.  To the houses where the woman is the boss, a chicken was given. He got toward the end of the street and saw a couple outside gardening. "Who's the boss around here?" he asked.  "I am." said the man. "I have a black horse and a brown horse," the farmer said, "which one would you like?" The man thought for a minute and said, "The black one."  "No, no, no, get the brown one." the man's wife said. "Here's your chicken." said the farmer.
