May 18-19, 2012 Master's Men Conference Men, it's that time of year for another Master's Men Conference.  Start planning now to attend.  It will be a time of wonderful Bible teaching and preaching and fantastic fellowship.  There is a sign-up sheet on the back table. May 26, 2012 Dime-a-Dip Picnic It's time again for our annual Dime-a-Dip Picnic.  This is a fun family time and a time to help the Youth Camp Fund.  There will be wonderful food and games, so plan now to join us.  Bring a dish to share. May 28, 2012 Memorial Day Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.  Moina Michael conceived an idea to wear red poppies on Memorial Day in honor of those who died serving the nation during war. Traditional observance of Memorial Day has diminished over the years.  Many Americans nowadays have forgotten the meaning and traditions of the day.  To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed in Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment. June 5, 2012 Primary Election Day Remember to pray about your vote and to get out and vote on this Primary Election Day.  This isn't just about the upcoming Presidential Election in November, we also need to think/pray/vote about our Congressional and Senate Representatives, as well as the propositions we will be voting on. June 14, 2012 Flag Day Flag Day celebrated on June 14, commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.  In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress. Vacation Bible School Team Meeting (sign up sheet on back table) July 30th - August 3rd Vacation Bible School Summer Camp at Ironwood for our Church Youth Something to Think About Casual dress leads to casual worship.  Ever wonder why God went through all the details of proper worship apparel for priest and High Priest in the Tabernacle?  They were to meet with the living God.  It does make a difference when you show up to meet Him, Who walks in the midst of the churches. House Calls:  We are an old fashioned Baptist church that still does things the old fashioned way.  Sometimes you just need to have your Pastor come by and spend some time with you.  Perhaps to pray, answer a question, or just visit.  Maybe you need to unload or share a personal burden.  Pastor Chapman would be happy to schedule an appointment to come by your home and share some time together in prayer and in God's Word.  Give him a call. Pray for our missionaries, as they serve the Lord around the world.  Pray the Lord will bless their ministries, keep them safe, and give them fruit for their labors. Pray for those in your church family, who aren't in church.  You may not know the reason why they aren't here, but God does. Pray for our military men and women as they are serving at home and abroad in foreign lands and dangerous places.  Pray also for their families that they will be comforted while their loved one is away. Pray for our President, government leaders and our country. With the next election coming up, pray that the Lord will guide and direct you as to who He wants you to vote for. Pray for our Pastor as he strives to lead and direct us according to the will and direction of our Lord. Pray for souls to be saved as new folks come to our services, and those we contact during visitation.
